Disney is not for the weak

My brother participated in the Disney Marathon weekend and my parents funded a trip for us to be included :-).  OH MY, exhausting!  People, people, people!  So crowded and buses.  Buses were used to get to all the different parts of Disney which is HUGE!  I haven't been there since my senior year in high school where it was our senior class trip.  It was a lot of invasion in my personal space and we were on the move.  I don't know how many miles we walked.  We were told that the distance from the elevator to our hotel room was 1/2 a mile.  We stayed at Kidani Village in the Animal Kingdom.  We had an awesome room that was more like an apartment.  My parents had a room w/bathroom, there was a kitchen (important for my MIL who is diabetic), a family room w/a sofa bed, our room had 2 double beds in it, and there we two full bathrooms.  Plenty of space since it was me, my husband, MIL, Strong Willed Wonder, and my parents.   There were animals living there (zebras, giraffes, etc.).  Very Cool.  A huge pool w/a slide, playground, fire pit, s'mores at night, and so much we didn't get to try.

To get to each park you take a bus that's about a 15-30 minute ride to each place (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney).  Our hotel was near Animal Kingdom and had an African theme.  I don't want to get on a bus anytime soon that's for sure.  Each place was fantastic, but overwhelming and there is so much to see and do. They had this new thing called FastPass  that is still getting the kinks worked out.  Once we figured it out it meant we were able to "reserve" a place on a ride which was nice and fast, but remember that was after we did the 1/2 hour bus ride to the whichever park we decided to go to and then walked to the ride.  We found doing 3 rides a day was right for us. And then we collapsed in exhaustion at the hotel when we got back.  It's also only helpful if you have a smart phone. If  you don't then you can't really use it effectively.

Overall we had a great time.  There as just too much stuff done in a short time period and now all of us are exhausted. The pre-schooler has her kindergarten transition meeting today, my husband and I are going, the pre-schooler is staying w/my MIL.  *sigh*  I just want to vegetate!

Yes - Disney is amazing but exhausting. Totally impossible to get to do everything you want while you're there. Glad you got to go!

Also, hope the meeting went well yesterday!
