Three days of kindergarten completed. The little one says she hates the bus. I asked why? She said she didn't like the kids. Then I asked her if she liked the kids in her class and she said no. Hmm... Not sure how to interpret this. So three days in the week she goes to kindergarten and then to a complement program which means I am on my own from 8:30 when she gets on the bus to 3 when I pick her up from the compliment program which is at her old pre-school so she knows some of the kids and is familiar with the location.
She is sleeping very very badly. Waking up every night with a bad dream and calls out for my husband who unfortunately has to go to his high pressure job. If I go in, she doesn't want me and still calls for him (sigh). So, yes, I'm enjoying all this alone time for me but she is having difficulty adjusting even though she has told me over and over she loves kindergarten.
We got a new washer and dryer and and since it was so beautiful, new and updated, we decided to paint and reorganize the laundry room. We got started today and when my husband starting sanding the wall he said the dry wall didn't feel right and now wants me to call and make sure it's not a mixture of drywall and espestos (sp ? for once I would like auto correct) since our house is 60 years old I guess it's not out of the question. But since we are going to be updating more of the house guess it makes sense. Plus the place I'm going to call also takes old old tanks which is useful since we switched from oil heat to gas heat and still have an old oil tank that we would have to get rid of when we do eventually move.
In other news a house was sold on our street for far less money than we paid since we bought during the housing boom 10 years ago. The house had been flipped and had every single possible update, but the couple got divorced and gossip on our street is that the wife just wanted to be free of the house. She said she didn't like it because it had a heat pump and was always cold. I'm sorry for her, but by selling the house for far less than any others had been purchased for it screwed us. Looks like we'll be in our house for another 5 years or so while hopefully the housing market bounces back more and other homes in the area are bought and sold for more. It is for the best in that I either wanted to move after kindergarten or after elementary school. Since a lot of kids go to private kindergarten because they want full day school and won't go to the public school until 1st grade or many children in catholic school begin after elementary ends.
We decided we wanted to move to an area with lower taxes. Currently we are in a very nice upper middle class area with very highly rated schools and high taxes. We have chosen an equally nice area with highly rated schools but a different county so lower taxes :-).
