Checking In

You know what?  I never realized how long summer vacation was until I had a school age child.  It's a long 3 months and if your child is one who thrives on everything being the same as I do it's not cool. Anyway, the strong willed wonder is doing really well.  She has mastered a scooter and we are hoping it will be a good stepping stone to riding her bike without training wheels.  Why?  Because we like to ride our bikes and it's expensive to hire a babysitter whenever we want to go cycling and a bike with training wheels moves at such a slow pace in comparison.

So, we are going to Maine for vacation in 1 week :-).  Then Labor Day, and school begins on September 2nd.  I have purchased her school supplies which I was happy to be able to get a 5 Below :-).  I am feeling better, but I am going to admit, the most difficult part of being a parent is the lack of alone time.  The time that I would have previously spent blogging or checking my email is pretty much non existent.  Right now my husband is sitting with the little one downstairs.

My husband is doing well with this work thing, we won't truly know until October/November. It does go on and on.  From there we will have to revisit what direction he would like his career to go.  I will be with the SWW and get a part time job.  If he has the opportunity to move to another position then the whole moving thing will be discussed again.
